Started in Czech Republic. Lunched in Austria. Ended in Slovenia. Gosh we sound fancy! And again, sorry we are a day behind -- we will update again tonight with our Sunday advantures!
It was a long day of travel, as we headed from Prague to Maribor with a quick stop in Vienna for lunch. In all, we were on the bus for about 6-7 hours AND we all came to appreciate the AC we have in our vehicles in the states!
Our stop in Vienna was jam-packed! We started in the museum district and walked down to the main square. Of note, we saw Mozart's apartment and St. Stephan's Cathedral. Construction of St. Stephen's started in 1147 and is the most important religious building in Vienna. It was nearly completely destroyed during WW2, with final restoration efforts finishing in 1952.
It's breathtaking. And again, our pictures don't do it justice.
Here are some more photos from our afternoon in Vienna. Of note, the middle picture in the first row is the building that housed Mozart's apartment.
We loaded back into the bus and drove another 2-3 hours to Maribor, Slovenia were we stayed the night. It was a HOT drive but we made it, and were rewarded by an incredible dinner on the Drava River. This was one of our first opportunities to really relax as a team and it was just as fun as it was beautiful.
We finished the night with a little exploration of the downtown square, and headed back to the hotel for some sleep. We will leave early on Sunday to head to Ljubljana, Slovenia to complete against the Croatian National Team at 11:00am local time.
Great job felt like I was there , thank you you made it an adventure to remember!
Nice job on the photos Jamie, and the commentary too. We’re enjoying all of it. Also, love the video (including in the dugout). Nice.
